ARULMIGU ALAGIRINATHAR TEMPLE

Arulmigu Alagirinathar Temple is located in the heart of Salem Fort, in the centre of Kottai, at a mere distance of 3 km south-east of the nearest bus-stand.Arulmigu Alagirinathar Temple is surrounded by compound walls on all four sides and it is located just west to the banks of Manimutharu River. It is commonly known as Thirukoil Kottai Perumal or Kottai Perumal Koil.The main festival celebrated by the temple is Vaikunta Ekadasi, which witnesses a horde of devotees who flock to the temple precincts.Some of the other festivals celebrated here throughout the year include Brahmotsavam, Pavithrotsavam, Navarathri and Puratasi and attended by devotees religiously.Arulmigu Alagirinathar Temple is open to visitors during timings 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Visitors are recommended to visit Arulmigy Alagirinathar Temple during afternoon hours and spend 2-3 hours here.
