An eminent weaving centre, both handloom and power loom, Aruppukkottai is located around 19 km west of Virudhunagar. Small industries like oil mills, straw bands, rice mills, ginning factory, and dying factories can be found anywhere in the place. However, the place has abundance of jasmine flowers which are also used for making traditional flower garland (gajra).
