BATHRAKALIAMMAN TEMPLE

Bathrakaliamman temple is located in the heart of the Mecheri Town in Salem district. This temple was built about 800 years ago by the local kings. Mecheri is surrounded by the lake and beautiful green meadows. It is also surrounded by south vallattu nadu and thoppaiyam. Mecheri is famous for “Mecheri special sheep” and Bathrakaliamman temple.The presiding deity of the temple happens to be Bhadrakali Amman, an avatar of Goddess Kali.In this temple, Rajagopuram is main entrance to the temple. Besides this, there are three Rajagopuram in three directions.
