The Bahuti Falls is a majestic waterfall located in the Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, India. It holds the title of being the tallest waterfall in the state, with a height of 145 meters (476 feet). The falls are formed by the Nihai River (also called Odda) cascading down the edge of the Valley of Mauganj, eventually joining the Belan River, a tributary of the Tamas or Tons River. The waterfall is an example of a nick point caused by rejuvenation. A nick point is a break in the slope of a river’s longitudinal profile caused by rejuvenation, which is the process of a river eroding its bed downwards. This break in slope allows the water to plunge vertically, creating the waterfall.
