Bathinda Fort
athinda Fort, popularly known as Quila Mubarak, is not just a centuries-old fort but also an iconic structure in the city. Constructed ages ago, this fort is of national importance and is looked after by Archaeological Survey of India.
The visit to the historical fort will take you down the memory lane. This place has been here for ages and has seen many rulers during its time. It was also the place where the Empress of Delhi, Razia Sultan, was kept as a prisoner after she was dethroned. Apart from this, it is one of the oldest standing forts in India. This is why it is important.The fortress was enhanced many times under the rule of the Mughal Empire, especially under the energetic Mughal Emperor Akbar. Bathinda expelled Mughals in duration of 1754, and invasion from Mughals were stopped with endeavours of Maharaja Ala Singh of Patiala state.
