Bhairavakona
Another famous tourist attraction in the Prakasam District of Andhra Pradesh is Bhairavakona. This is a holy place located in the heart of Nallamala Hills. The name of this place originated from the fact that the temple of Sri Trimukha Durgamba Mahadevi, along with Sri Barguleshwari Swamy temple, is located here. According to mythology, this place is guarded by Bala Bhairava Swamy. Situated at around 43 km from Udayagiri, Bhairavakona is well connected to the other areas of the region and APSRTC’s Udayagiri depot provides regular bus service. This place is home to an ancient Shiva temple. Apart from being famous for the temple, this place also has a massive waterfall, which falls from 200 metres and has eight temples carved into the hill. One interesting thing that attracts tourists worldwide is that the moonlight falls on the idol of goddess Parvati at a temple, especially during Kartik Poornima day.
