The President’s Trophy Boat Race, one of Kerala’s most renowned and celebrated snake boat races, is a thrilling spectacle that takes place on 21 Dec 2024. The serene waters of Ashtamudi Lake transform into a vibrant racecourse as the grand snake boats cut through the water, all vying for the coveted trophy. The synchronized strokes of the rowers, in perfect harmony with the soaring boat songs, as they propel their boats toward the finish line, create an awe-inspiring scene. Crowds of spectators gather along the lake’s banks, passionately cheering on the rowers and immersing themselves in the excitement.

The race begins at the water column near Thevally Palace, with the finish line at the houseboat terminal. The 1250-meter stretch of water between these points serves as the racetrack. Witnessing this water regatta in full swing is truly a feast for both the eyes and ears.
