Chhachhrauli Fort
Chhachhrauli Fort is a main tourist attraction in Karnal. The fort served as a residential as well as the defense site for the famous Kalsia Kings. The kings built the fort to protect it from the external attacks of the intruders. The architecture of the fort is traditional. You will get a glimpse of the British-Indo architecture. The main entrance of the fort is in a rectangular shape and is named after the Raja Ravi Sher Singh. The Queen’s Palace is located on the left side of the fort. This was the residence of the queens and the royal family. A gigantic clock tower was built using stone blocks. The walls of the fort have some antique mural paintings and motif designs. The artists of the time have made the portrayals of trains and churches on the walls of the fort. Two schools were set up in the fort and flourished well in the past years. As of today, the fort is in ruins, and you will get to see the perished fragments of the fort. When visiting the Chhachhrauli Fort, you will find other places of great tourist interest. Some of them are the Karna Lake, Manji Sahib Gurudwara, DurgaBhawani Temple, and the Kalandar Shah’s Tomb.
