Cholamandalam

At a distance of 20 Kms from Chennai Central Railway Station (near Injambakkam, on Mahabalipuram Road), The Cholamandal Artists Village established in 1964 is an institution of fine arts and crafts. Established by students of the Madras School of Arts and Crafts, it has come to be recognized as a significant school of arts and crafts. It is a heaven for art lovers and artists. Artists live as a community and pooled together their skills and resources. Developed in an area of 8 acres, it has a permanent art gallery to hold exhibitions. Sculptures made of granite, wood, copper and bronze are created within the Artists Village. Items are kept for exhibition and sale with in Artists Village.
