Dholya Ganapati
Mahaganapati temple or dholya ganapati temple is situated in city satara state of maharashtra. wai is an antiquated city. During mahabharata time the city was known by the name "virat nagari'. it is likewise called as 'a town of sanctuaries' on account of there are numerous sanctuaries arranged along the ghats of krishna stream. it is otherwise called 'dakshin kashi' in light of the fact that there are 7 ghats along krishna stream in wai.
Mahaganapati sanctuary is arranged in ganpati aali ghat in wai. before this sanctuary there is kashi vishvesh sanctuary. I have perused that the extensive statue of ganapati is produced using single dark completed stone and from a similar stone the nandi statue is made in kashi vishvesh sanctuary. the sanctuary was work in 1762 by shri ganapatrao bhikaji raste.
Among these sanctuaries arranged along krishna waterway, most well known sanctuary in wai is the dholya ganapati sanctuary. its called as 'dholya' in light of the huge size of ganesha statue. its 10 feet tall and 8 feet wide. in marathi dialect 'dholya' implies immense or fat. the ganesha statue is in sitting position and looks exceptionally cheerful and positive.the ganesha sanctuary isn't huge. it has one major lobby and from that point you enter inside the internal sanctum where the dholya ganapati statue is put.
