Gangtok Monastery

The monastery is located around 24 km from the city of Gangtok in the quiet, peaceful and beautiful village of Rumtek. The monastery is the seat of His Holiness, The Gyalwa Karmapa of the Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Apart from the Buddhist religious tourists, other tourists also visit this beautiful and serene place as a day sightseeing trip from Gangtok.
