Glass House
India’s largest glass House has been constructed near Kunduvada in Davanagere at a cost of Rs 30 crore. Glass House will bring another feather to the Davanagere chosen for the Smart City project. This beautiful palace attracts tourists from all over the country to Davanagere and enhances the prestige of the district.It surpasses Bangalore’s Lal Bagh Glass Palace in terms of area and beauty. It was Inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on March 13, 2018.
This glass house is 108 meters long, 68 meters wide and 18 meters high. It is made of sophisticated design using saint, gobain glass. Inside is granite flooring. These glasses control the heat of the sun and make it feel cool inside. The glass house is built on three acres out of 12 acres. In the year 2014-15, when Shamanur Sivasankarappa was the minister, the work which started at a cost of Rs 5 crore has now reached an estimated cost of Rs 30 crore.
