Gopi Krishan Sagar Dam

This Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manual contains procedures for carrying out Reservoir and Gate operations, inspections and Maintenance for Gopi Krishna Sagar dam. It will be helpful in ascertaining that the dam is functioning safely to keep it in a good condition by periodic repairs/maintenance. Timely maintenance is important for the continued safe functioning of the dam and productive use of the dam and reservoir. The term “O&M” as employed in this Manual includes operation, maintenance, general repairs of dam components including replacement, as necessary.

The Manual is prepared primarily for the dam operations staff and their supervisors who are assigned the responsibility for the physical operations and maintenance of the dam. It contains all information and instructions necessary for them to perform their allotted tasks. In addition to instructions for dam operations staff, the manual defines responsibilities of various dam officials and provides the systematic procedures, guidance and standard forms to ensure safe operation, extend the life and achieve the intended purpose of the dam.
