Jamalapuram Temple

Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple located in Jamalapuram, near to Errupalem in Khammam district of Telangana. The presiding deity in this temple is Lord Balaji and is said to be a swayambhu Lord, who self-manifested in this place. The legend has it that in ancient days Jabali Maharshi worshipped and did penance here at a place called Suchi Gutta and was said to have been blessed by Lord Venkateshwara. The temple here seems to have been in existence since considerable antiquity. It was renovated by Sri Krishnadevaraya, the emperor of Vijayanagara Empire. It is also known as Telangana Chinna Tirupathi. The temple has sub-shrines for Padmavathi Ammavaru, Sri Alamelu Ammavaru, Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesh, Lord Ayyappa, and Lord Hanuman.

One beautiful day Lord Vishnu remained before his eye and favoured him. As the priest wanted, Lord turns into an icon in his place as Sri Venkateswara’s symbol.

After quite a while, the individual called Yagnanarayana Sharma took rest here while his tour to Kashi and felt a mysterious slope. He then realised the connection with these slopes and trees each night. Yagnanarayana felt, he has some association with this place and choose to be live for quite a while.

Lord Venkateswara has come as a kid and played with cattlemen every day. If anyone asks his name and place, the kid used to answer as your signature is my name, and your location is my place.

Yagnanarayana Sharma got to know that child, and he reached the highest point of the slope to think about him. There he discovered Lord Venkateswara icon and compositions on the stone.
