Kappal Matha Church

Constructed in the year 1974, Kappal Matha Church is located on the seashore around 70 km from Tirunelveli. Devotees visit this pristine shrine to offer their prayers and to pay homage to Mother Mary for which the church is devoted to. The earlier construction of the church got damages in the sea erosion, and thus, the locals decided to build a new church and that too of seaplane architecture design. The remarkable architecture overlooking the azure sea is the fascinating attraction of this place making it must visit travel place in Tirunelveli. Moreover, the church has three shrines and few grottos where pilgrims can make their prayers and spend some peaceful time.
