Kelwa Beach

Kelva Beach, also known as Kelwa or Kelwe Beach, is a serene stretch of coastline located in Thane district of Maharashtra, India. It's one of the largest beaches in Maharashtra, sprawling over 7 kilometers along the Arabian Sea and lined with an impressive expanse of suru trees. The beach is famed for its picturesque sunset views and tranquil atmosphere, providing a refreshing escape from the busy life of Mumbai. Kelva Beach is ideal for leisurely walks on the soft sands, picnics, and horse-riding activities. Visitors often relish in the local seafood cuisine available at nearby stalls and restaurants. The historic Kelva Fort and the Sheetla Devi Temple are popular attractions near the beach, beckoning tourists interested in history and spirituality. The beachfront is less commercialized compared to other beaches near Mumbai, which helps in keeping its natural charm intact. Kelva Beach is also a preferred spot for birdwatchers, especially during the migratory season.
