Khuga Dam

Khuga dam is a recently built dam located near the town of Churachandpur. It is located to the south of this town. Khuga Dam is constructed over the Khuga River in Churachandpur district of Manipur state of India. This dam is constructed to serve various purposes. Not only for irrigation, water management but also to provide Hydro electricity in surrounding area. The construction work was initiated during 1983 and took a long time in construction. After 19 years of working, the process stopped due to some controversies aroused.  Finally, in 2010, Sonia Gandhi inaugurated the dam.
