Lepakshi Jataayu

A huge sculpture mounted on a rocky hill at the entrance of Lepakshi village. A visit in the early hours when the sun is not high is advised. The visit in late January at about 9 am was a pleasant experience. Located about 125 km from Bengaluru its a comfortable two and a half drive. Its a park seems to have been established recently (few years).A combined visit to the nearby Veerabadhra temple makes it a good one day getaway from Bengaluru. It is an amazing place for those who are interested in ancient history and architecture.A karnataka tourism hotel, Hatitha at the entrance of the village provides decent choice of food.
