Longtharai Mandir

 

According to the Tripura Tribal dialect, Lord Shiva’s name is Longtharai in the KOK-BOROK language. According to legend, after Shiva returned from Kailash, he slept at the Longtharai hill for a while. Longtharai is the name given to the hill as a result. Longtharai can alternatively be translated as “Deep Valley.” This temple is also a renowned tourist attraction in the Dhalai District.
