Maa Chanchala Devi Shaktipeeth

Shiv Shaktipeeth Mata Chanchala Devi hill located in Nawalshahi at a distance of about 33 km from Koderma district headquarters is a center of attraction for tourists as well as devotees. Mata Chanchala Devi is considered to be a form of Durga. The main gate of Shiv Shaktipeeth Mata Chanchala Devi is located at Kanikend turn of Nawalshahi. Chanchalini Dham is located in the forest about 8 km from here. Maa Chanchala Devi is established in the middle of the mountains at a height of about 400 feet. There is also a cave on the mountain. Different forms of Maa Durga can be seen inside the cave.

Suresh Pandit of Chanchalini Dham told that in the year 1956-57, the Kheshmi dynasty had constructed stairs on the mountain. However, due to the wish of the mother, stairs have not been built till the top of the hill. Stairs were built till the middle of the mountain by the Kheshmi dynasty. After this, to reach the Shivling situated on the top of the mountain, people climb to the top of the mountain with the help of railing made of iron pipe and perform Jalabhishek on the Shivling.
