Maharajke War Memorial

This beautiful Park, in memory of those of who fought and captured Maharajke post in Kashmir in 1965 war and despite repeated attacked by Pakistanis to recapture the post stood their ground, repulsed repeated attacks and captured and killed large number of Pakistani soldiers. In the process the battalion of this brave Kumaon regiment laid down lives and sustained injuries. The park is beautiful with tall majestic trees and beautiful surroundings. There is a beautiful memorial and statue of a brave Kumaon regiment soldier.
A good place to visit when in Pithoragarh. One can combine visit to Kamaksha temple and this park as these are quite near to each other.
