Nagfeni

Nagpheni is the name of a place, which is located in the middle of Gumla and Sisai blocks in Gumla district of Jharkhand state. Nagpheni is spread over a very large area. A very large river flows in it. Whose name is Nagpheni river. And there is a Jagannath temple on the bank of the river.There is also a waterfall on the river right next to it. This waterfall is also known as Nagpheni waterfall. This river is called Nagpheni because the local people here said that at this place a biggest stone looks like a snake.

According to the mythological story, Nag Devi was seen here. Who was standing on the bank of this river showing her hood. No one knows how true this saying is. Local people say that this river is famous for Lord Jagannath. Here a biggest rock is in the shape of a snake.Apart from this, it is also believed that the most number of Nagpheni plants grow in the dry and barren areas on this river. Which is seen most in the cold and humid season of the year. Due to which this river was named Nagpheni.

 

The most number of Nagpheni plants grow in the dry and barren areas in the Nagpheni river. This is the plant, which once thrown in someone’s field, the entire field gets filled with Nagpheni. This plant is so destructive that if a branch is thrown in a pond, it will fill the entire pond within a year. It has been observed that till date, in all the ponds in which this plant has been seen, it covers the entire area of ??that pond with its expansion. This plant is found the most in this river.
