Nayanagar Durga Sthan

History of the temple: The temple of Maa Bhagwati was established during the Chandragupta II period. Nayanagar (Madhepura), Sanjeev Kumar Kashyap/N.P.: Maa Bhagwati Durga Temple located in Nayanagar Panchayat under Udakishunganj block of Madhepura district is not only famous for its religious importance but also as a historical peace and wish Shaktipeeth. Regarding the establishment of this famous Durga temple here, local elders and villagers say that the idol of Maa Durga was built during the reign of King Chandragupta II. Local villagers and devotees also say that the idol of Durga Maa was installed here by King Ramdev.
