Neelameghaperumal Temple

The Thirukannapuram Neelamega Perumal Temple in Thiruvarur dates back to the 10th century A.D and is dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is worshipped as Neelameghaperumal in this temple. It is an excellent example of the temple architecture that the Cholas were famous forThe Neelameghaperumal Temple, a 10th century shrine of Lord Shiva, was constructed by the Chola kings. The main sanctum is situated inside a huge tower measuring about 100 ft in height. This temple also has small shrines of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Parvati.
