Among the many things to see in Pilak, one is the terracotta plaques, sealed with stone images of Avalokiteshvara and Narasimhan. These stone sculptures reflect the existence of heterodox sects and creeds portraying both Buddhism and Hinduism. The remains of brick work based on the Ramayana and Mahabharata. The designs on the sculptures reflect the influence of Chola architecture. The area is closely linked with Paharpur and Mainamati in Bangladesh. To reach Pilak, travelers can take a train to the nearest railhead in Kumarghat. From here, one can easily reach Pilak by local transport or taxi. Tourists can stay at Pilak Pantha Niwas or Dakbunglow.
