Raja Harsh ka Tila
The current town of Thanesar enjoys the benefit of being erected over a prehistoric location of significant archaeological value. Remains from the 7th century, when King Harshvardhan governed the area, have been discovered during excavation in the mound known as ‘Harsh Ka Tila’, which is about a kilometre long. Some of the most significant post-Gupta period findings may be seen at this location, which displays a genuinely intriguing succession of civilisations from the Kushana period to the most recent Mughal period. Raja Harsh ka Tila, an archaeological wonder and significant find, is evidence of the long history of the Kurukshetra neighbourhood.
