Shikharji

Shikharji or Shri Shikharji is a hill located on the Chota Nagpur Plateau in Giridih district of Jharkhand state of India , which is also the most important Jain pilgrimage site in the world. Known as 'Shri Sammet Shikhar Ji', this holy place is where 20 out of 24 Tirthankaras (supreme Jain gurus) of Jainism attained salvation. The 23rd Tirthankara Bhagwan Parshvanath also attained Nirvana here. It is believed that 20 out of 24 Jain Tirthankaras attained salvation here. Situated on four thousand stairs  This 1,350 m (4,430 ft) high mountain is also the highest point in Jharkhand.
