If you go to a Mahadev temple in any corner of the world, you will see Nandi sitting near Shankara's pindi. As Nandi is the vehicle of Mahadev, in every temple of Mahadev, Nandi has a place in front of Mahadev's pindi. However, Nashik's historic Kapaleshwar Mahadev Temple is an exception. This is the only temple of Mahadev which does not have Nandi. When Mahadeva was accused of killing Brahma, Mahadeva took Tribhuvan Paltha to free himself from this punishment.
