Shri Siddeshwar Temple

The importance of Solapur (Maharashtra) is unique in the history of India in the sense that this district enjoyed the freedom even before independence. The special feature of the Solapur is Lord Shivayogi Shri Siddharameshwar, Who is the chief deity of the city. Lord Siddharameshwara was a yogi who attained divinity through his service to society. He believed in “Duty is Deity”. He was a great mystic and Kannada poet and written 68,000 dictims (vachanas). He has also consecrated 68 shivlingas and Asthavinayak in the Panchkroshi of Solapur. In 12th century, he constructed the lake with the help of devotees to solve the drinking water problem of society. With the holy blessing of Lord Siddharameshwara, now Solapur becomes Abhinav Shrishail, one of the pious place in Maharastra.

The first founder president Honourable Late. Bandappa Kadadi formed charitable trust to maintain the siddheshwar temple before independance. This trust is known as Shri Siddheshwar Devasthan Panch Committee, Solapur. The trust has been contributing his hands in Social, educational, religious work for the welfare of the society. Later in 1958 Shri M.B. alies Karmyogi Appasaheb Kadadi, Who is the son of Late Bandappa Kadadi, became president of the trust. He was great freedom fighter, true patriot and a visionary leader. He was the moving spirit behind the numours religious, social, educational, co-operative and medical institues.
