Sita Temple
Sitamarhi is revered by Hindus as the birthplace of Goddess Sita. The region is associated with several mythological events from the Ramayana, including the place where King Janaka found baby Sita while plowing the fields. This makes it a significant pilgrimage destination for devotees of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita.
Devotees from various parts of India and abroad visit Sitamarhi to pay homage to Goddess Sita and seek her blessings. Pilgrims often engage in rituals and prayers at the sacred sites associated with Sita's life and legends.
Sita Kund, also known as Janaki Kund, is a revered pond in Sitamarhi believed to be the spot where Sita emerged from the earth after King Janaka plowed the field. Pilgrims take holy dips in the Kund, considering it auspicious and purifying.
