Someshwara Temple
Located in the Kolar district, the Someshwara Temple is known for its tall superstructure also called ‘Gopuram’. This temple is built in Dravidian style architecture and has an exceptionally beautiful structure. In Someshwara Temple, Lord Shiva is the presiding deity. This temple was constructed in the 14th century in the time of the Vijayanagara era. The devotees of Lord Shiva visit this temple every year on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. Someshwara Temple has immense importance as it is a national monument and comes under the Archaeological Survey of India
