Sri Vontimitta Kodanda Rama Swamy Temple

Unlike most temples dedicated to Rama, there is not a single statue of Hanumana inside. The sanctum and attached pillared hall were built earlier (reportedly in the 14th century), while the gopuram and central mandapa were added later.Close to the temple, there is, picturesque lake sprawling beneath a hill range. The waterbody is filled with reedy vegetation that gives it an eerie air. The tourism department organises boat rides here, though they were not operational at the time of research.

While earlier the official Ramanavami celebrations of the state were held in Bhadrachalam, after Andhra's bifurcation, the Kodandarama Swamy Temple was chosen as the venue. The Brahmotsavam of the temple falls around Ramanavam (March-April). There are plans to develop the shrine as a spiritual centre on the lines of Tirumala.
