Thoubal Pumlenpat lake

Pumlenpat is the second largest lake in Manipur after the Loktak Lake, situated about 68 km south of Imphal (the capital of Manipur, a state in North East India) and about 45 km from Thoubal. Just as Loktak Lake, People situated around this lake depend on fishery products for their livelihood.Pumlenpat Lake is a crucial ecosystem that supports a variety of aquatic life, including fish, plants, and birds. It provides a habitat for many species that depend on freshwater wetlands.Like Loktak Lake, Pumlenpat Lake has a network of floating islands called phumdis, which are made up of organic matter, and the lake itself is known for its rich biodiversity.
