Vata Vriksha (Meditation Tree)

All the places connected with Baba in Puttaparthi are divine. And this one He had created for us to meditate calmly in His abode. The Vata Vriksha - a banyan tree was planted by Baba Himself at a this place very close to Prashanthi Nilayam, with a sanctified copper plate beneath it. This place by devotees can be reached by a road abetting the Ashram compound , opposite to the bus station . We have to walk along the road for about 5 minutes to reach this beautiful place. As is everywhere in Puttaparthi , this place also is guarded and maintained by the dedicated Sevadals. Around the tree there are separate places for men and women to meditate in the most serene atmosphere. The most recommended time is early morning after Nagarsankeerthan and in the evening by 5 PM . It is a delightful to go and mediadate uttering SAIRAM.
