Yogani Shaktipith

On the occasion of Navratri, a flood of faith swells in the 52nd Shaktipeeth Maa Yogini Temple (Maa Yogini Temple 52 Shaktipeeth). There is a temple of Maa Yogini on NH 133 Godda Pirpainti road, 15 km from Godda district headquarters (52 Shaktipeeth in Godda Jharkhand). The sanctum sanctorum cave temple of Mata is at an altitude of 1000 meters above the ground. It is believed about Maa Yogini that it is the 52nd Shaktipeeth, which is called Gupt Shaktipeeth. Generally, according to the Puranas, 51 Shaktipeeths are considered, but in other texts there is also a description of 52 Shaktipeeths.

The history of Yogini temple is 1 thousand years old. It is said that the worship in this temple was started by the Nat kings. However, it is also said that the Nat kings also used to create obstacles in the rituals. Angered by this, the Brahma kings chased them away. After which the Brahma kings started performing puja at Yogini Sthan. Later, when the Zamindari system started, this work went to the Khetori Zamindar. Even today, the head priest is Professor Ashutosh Singh of the Khetori Zamindar family. Also, the people of his family take care of the temple. The descendants of the Brahma kings also live in this area. According to religious texts, this is a temple of Dwaparyug. This temple is also mentioned in the Mahabharata. It is said that the Pandavas also stayed here during their exile.
