jakhu hanuman temple
The temple is famous for its 108-foot-tall statue of Lord Hanuman, one of the tallest in India. It is believed that Hanuman rested at Jakhu Hill while searching for the Sanjeevani herb during the Ramayana. The temple attracts both pilgrims and tourists alike, offering a peaceful and spiritual retreat. Visitors can reach the temple by a steep climb or via a cable car ride. Monkeys are a common sight around the temple area. The temple is especially crowded during festivals like Hanuman Jayanti and Ram Navami. Established in the 19th century, it has become a significant cultural and religious landmark in Shimla. The temple is also a place of devotion and offers blessings of strength and protection to devotees.
