Singeeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Mappedu Village near Perambakkam in Thiruvallur District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Singeeswarar and Mother is called as Pushpa Gujambal. This is a recently renovated ancient temple and is a special temple for people born in ‘Moolam’ star. There is an idol of Sri Anjaneya in front of Lord Shiva shrine playing the Veena. Those aspiring skill in music pray to him. The Place Mappedu was originally called as Meipedu. Pradosham, the 13th day either from new moon or full moon, Arudhra Darshnam and Mahasivarathri in February-March are important festival days of the temple. Just like performing Abhishekams for the Lord, it is said, performing floral decoration is a specialty in this temple on “Aadi” and “Thai” month Fridays.
