Adaikalamadha church
Adikalamadha Church is located in Elakurichi village in Ariyalur district of Tamil Nadu. It is dedicated to Virgin Mary. Veeramamunivar had constructed the Aadaikalamatha Church in Elakurichi. Every year the Elakurichi Adaikalamadha shrine car festival is famous. Christians come together to celebrate the festival every year in April. During this festival pilgrims gather to pray to Mother Mary popularly known as Adaikalamadha from throughout Tamil Nadu, especially pilgrims come by bullock carts from nearby parishes such as Varadarajan Pet, Tennur, Keelaneduvai and Koovathur. The Village is located in the River bank of Kollidam, the main occupation of the people of Elakurichy is Agriculture. One of the best place to visit in Ariyalur district.

Ganga Jadadisvarar Temple
The Ganga Jadadisvarar Temple is a Hindu temple located on the village Govindaputtur, Ariyalur district. Saint Appar and Sambandar who lived during the period of Mahendravarma Pallava praised the deity of the temple in their Devaram hymns. The present temple building was built by Uttama Chola by his officer Ambalavan Paluvur Nakkan. The temple is situated on the northern banks of the kollidam river. The temple is considered as thevara vaippu sthalam as devaram hymns had a mention about this temple.

Gangaikonda cholapuram
Gangaikonda cholapuram is a village located near to Jayankondam, Ariyalur district, Tamil Nadu. The town is about approximately 125 kilometres (78 mi) northeast of Tiruchirapalli international airport. Ariyalur is best known for the Gangaikondacholisvarar temple in Gangaikondacholapuram, the biggest temple constructed during the reign of Rajendra–I in Ariyalur region. The temple has sculptures of exceptional quality. The bronzes of Bhogasakti and Subrahmanya are masterpieces of Chola metal icons. The Saurapitha (Solar altar), the lotus altar with eight deities, is considered auspicious. The shiva lingam is made from single rock. The exquisite bronze statues of the Chola period are known the world over for their grace and lifelike appearance. Many beautiful figures of Nataraja, or the dancing Shiva, were made during the Chola era. This temple is a living history of the Cholas in stone from the period of Rajendra-I and a beautiful gallery of Chola art and architecture. One of the best place to visit in Ariyalur district.

karaivetti Bird Sanctuary
The Karaivetti Bird Sanctuary is a 4.537-square-kilometre (1.752 sq mi) protected area located in the Ariyalur District of the state of Tamil Nadu. The sanctuary is basically an irrigation tank that receives water from the Mettur dam from September onwards which is supplemented by the northeast monsoons from October till January. The sanctuary is one of the most important fresh water feeding ground for migratory water birds in the state of Tamil Nadu. One of the largest tanks in the state, it has recorded the largest congregation of water birds among all the tanks in the state. Of the 188 species of birds recorded in the sanctuary, 82 are water birds. Among the important visitors to the tank is the endangered Bar Headed Goose. The best time to visit the sanctuary for bird watching is October-March.

Kondandaramaswamy kovil
Kodandaramaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple in the town of Ariyalur. The east facing venkatesa perumal, a later creation, is now the main moolavar deity at this temple. The temple continues to be known after the original deity as the kothandarama temple in Ariyalur. Rama is seen along with Sita and Lakshmana in a single peedam. An interesting feature at the temple is the exquisite six ft tall Dasavaratha idols, on either side of the Dasavathara mandapam, one that was constructed by vijaya oppila mazhava raya. Festivals – Vaikunta Ekadesi with Swarga vaasal opening, Rama Navami, Garuda sevai procession on Vaikasi visakam day is a big highlight at the temple. This temple opening timings 7.30am to 10.30am and 5.00pm to 8.30pm. One of the nice place to visit in Ariyalur district.

Melapaluvur Keezhaiyur Temple
The ancient name of this village was Mannuperumpaluvur, Periyapaluvur and Melaipaluvur. The eastern part of this village is called Kilaiyur which was called as Avani Kandarvapuram during the period of the Cholas. It was a mercantile town of itinerant trade guilds. This temple is one of the finest stone temples and one of the best preserved early Chola temples offering different architectural styles with an array of beautiful and charming sculptures. It was built of stone during the period Parantaka Chola – I and Uttama Chola .Chola Kings had marital alliances with the Paluvettaraiyar family. Parantaka Chola married Arumolinangai who was the daughter of the Paluvettaraiyar Chief Kumaran Maravan and the Chola King Arinjaya Chola was born to this princess.

Sundareswarar Temple
Sundareswarar temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Mela Pazhuvur village in Ariyalur district. Presiding deity is called Sundareswarar and Mother is called as Meenakshi. This temple is administrated by the Hindu religious and Charitable Endowments department of Tamil Nadu. The temple opening timings from 7.00am to 11.00am and from 5.00pm to 7.00pm. It was believed that by worshiping Lord Shiva of this temple will remove the curse of Mother and will be bestowed with child boon by worshiping jyestha Devi. The temple is located at about 100 meters Melapalur bus stop, 15 kms from Ariyalur, 16 kms from Ariyalur railway station. Nice place to visit in Ariyalur district.

Sri Kaliuga Varatharaja Perumaal Temple
Sri Kaliugaa Varatharaja perumal temple is a major attraction of Ariyalur. It is situated at 5 km away from Ariyalur. The ten Avatars of Lord Shri Vishnu are aesthetically sculpted in the Dasavathara mandap in the temple. Sri Kaliyaperumal temple is the Kula Deivam for nearby 10 villages and it is over 250 years old Kaliuga Varatharaja Perumaal Temple, One that was built by the padaiyaachi vanniyars of sithalavadi village in udayarpalayam. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Idol of Lord Hanuman was installed nearby the main presiding deity. The temple is open from 6.30am to 12.30 pm and from 3.00 pm to 9.00pm. There are two chariots here at this temple – One for the Utsava deity and One for Anjaneya. Chariot festival too attracts huge number of devotes.

Thirumazhapadi Vaidyanathaswami Temple
Thirumazhapadi Vaidyanathaswami Temple is a Hindu temple located at Thirumazhapadi in Ariyalur district, Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to Shiva, as the moolavar presiding deity, in his manifestation as Vaidyanathaswami. It is one of the tourist places in Ariyalur. This temple is famous for its "Nandikesvarar thirukalyanam " (March/April) which is conducted yearly. The people of thirumalapadi celebrate the festival grandly. It also has a statue of Thiruvalluvar, which was made with 750 kg of Bronze. It is a biggest metallic statue of Thiruvalluvar in Tamil Nadu. Nandi kalyanam, the celestial wedding of the Nandi (bull), is celebrated in a grand manner in this temple during the Tamil month of Panguni (mid-March to mid-April).
