
The name Balark originally means the ‘Rising Sun’. This temple is located in Juna, which is at a distance of 42 km from Barmer. The temple, Juna Jain temple referred to; is the temple that is within its vicinity. This temple is decorated very plainly, yet richly with a colored statue of the Sun God and design. And the advantage of coming to this place is not only for its remarkable view, which includes the view from the small hill downwards, but you also see the Juna Jain temple here. Tourists and photographers and archaeologists too, make a point to come here, it is a place which caters to all. All the other major tourist attractions too, lay close to it.

About 43 kilometers west of Barmer in Rajasthan lie the ruins of five temples in a picturesque amphitheatre of hills. These temples date back to circa 1000 A.D. and later. Though some people ascribe it to the Rastrakuta Dynasty, it is believed to belong to the Gurjara-Praihara School of temple building. The intricately sculpted walls and pillars and the complex toranas, also seem to be paving the way for the imminent Solanki vogue. Certain Gupta influences are also apparent, obviously arising from their proximity to Gupta territory.
