Rukmini Devi Temple

Located relatively on the outskirts, the Rukmini Mata Temple commemorates Lord Krishna’s queen. The temple is said to be more than 2500 years old but it may have been reconstructed over time. The present temple is said to belong to the 12th century. It is much more modest than Dwarkadhish in structure and sculptures but inspires the same devotional fervour. Carvings of gods and goddesses embellish the exteriors and the main idol of Rukmini is housed in the sanctum. Carved naratharas (human figures) and gajatharas (elephants) feature in the panels at the base of the platform.

Beyt Dwarka

Beyt Dwarka is an island, masterminded at a partition of 30 km from the guideline town. This island is enveloped by couple of havens, white shoreline and coral reefs. Dwarka Lighthouse

Situated about 2 km from the Dwarka city centre, the Dwarka Lighthouse is a 43-metered tower. The Dwarka Lighthouse is not only a great sunset viewpoint, but the structure itself adorns an impressive architectural style. 

With a former oil-lamp version launched in 1866, the modern light-bulb Dwarka Lighthouse was installed between 1960 and 1962. Launched on the 15th of July, 1962, this light tower was opened the transport minister of the time, Mr Raj Bahadur.

Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple

The Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple stands on a hillock jutting out into the Arabian Sea on the western edge of Dwarka. Dedicated to a form of Lord Shiva known as the Chandra-Mouliswar Shiva, this ancient sanctuary enshrines a sacred Shivalinga, which is believed to be Swayambhu or the self-manifested lingam of Lord Shiva.

It is said that over five thousand years ago, the deity revealed himself in the form of this revered Shivalinga in the sea. The temple was built at the confluence of Gomti, Ganga, and the Arabian Sea by the revered Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya.

Pandava Wells


The Five Pandava Well or the Panchananda Teerth is situated across the Gomti river. It is said that after losing everything to gambling, the Pandavas came to this spot for penance. The local people condemned the gambling and five sages were called to intercede on their behalf. On the sages’ advice, the Pandavas performed penance and through their supernatural powers, drew waters from five different rivers in the form of wells, also called kunds.
