Adhiyamaan Kottam

Adhiyamankottai is one of the oldest forts in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. It is in the Dharmapuri district of the state. The fort has been built by King Adhiyaman, and he was one of the very last 7 benevolent emperors who had ruled the state. The fort actually appears like a circular mud wall. The place is one of the greatest tourist attractions in the entire state. The fort passes through a lake and this lake is considered to be very auspicious by the locals. It is situated between Salem – Dharmapuri road. The fort was the residential place of King Adhiyaman and this capital was situated in the present Dharmapuri town. One gets absolute facilities as there are several bus and private car services that connect the place with the rest of the state.

CSI Zion Church

CSI Zion Church is a prominent protestant church situated in Dharmapuri. This church is not only a place in worship, but the youths of this church also actively engaged in social activities including helping poor people and visiting leprosy patients. Crocodile Park

The Crocodile Farm or Crocodile Rehabilitation and Research Center is located near Hogenakkal, Dharmapuri District. More than 300 crocodiles are taken care of here. Tamil Nadu Forest Department is managing this center. Crocodiles are hunted for its skin which is used to make purses, bags, belts and shoes,meat and medicinal value of its bones and meat.

Hogenakkal Falls

Hogenakkal Falls is a waterfall in South India on the Kaveri river on the border between Dharmpuri district of Tamil nadu and Chamrajnagar district of Karnataka. The best season to visit is soon after the monsoons, when the river is in full spate. But some tourists prefer to visit during off-season to skip the crowd. The water temperature in summer varies between 23–34 °C (73–93 °F) while during the winter it ranges from 13–27 °C (55–81 °F). Boating in Hogenakkal is allowed during the dry-season as the falls are not strong enough to disrupt the passage of the boats. This is the main source of income for boat operators. Freshly caught fish are sold by the gorge and also various vendors selling water and snacks up and down the gorge rowing their coracles is not uncommon.

Kottai Kovil

This temple is dedicated to God Mallikarjuneswarar and Goddess Kamatchi Ambal. It has been located at 1 km from Dharmapuri Bus stand. It belongs to the period of Cholas. It is told that it is the temple where Adhiyaman, the King of Thagadur used to visit and worship the deity here. This temple attached very great importance to feminine. So the Lord himself has given superiority to the Goddess Sakthi; Lord Mallikarjuneswarar has been seated lower than Ambigai.Hanging sculptured pillar in the temple is its special feature.

Panchapalli Dam

Panchapalli dam is a little known place that is situated Dharmapuri district. The small dam is built on the river Chinnar and is surrounded by beautiful green hills. A serene dam with beautiful skies and the bright sun. When we reached the dam, we were expecting that this place would be crowded with people during the weekend. To our surprise, we did not see anyone else other than the gardener. We spent some time strolling and taking photos near the dam. On the other side of the dam there is a park. We walked down to the park and had a relaxed evening. No shops or hotels nearby. It is good to carry food and water.

Chenraya Perumal Temple

Chenraya Perumal Temple is a Hindu temple located in the town ofAdiyamankottam, 7 km from Dharmapuri on the Salem road. The temple is dedicated to Vishnu and is believed to have been constructed by Hoysala and Vijayanagar kings, the most prominent being Krishnadevaraya.. The God here is Chennaraya Perumal. Perumal is another name of Lord Vishnu. The Ardha Mandapam of this temple is around 10 feet long. The ceiling of the whole 10 feet has a huge image of Lord Vishnu, called Viswaroopam. The murals on the walls and the ones near the window have got damaged though. In the paintings near the window, only the very fast red color is still intact. sculpturals : This temple is not a sculptural marvel; there are very few sculptures especially on the vimanam (tower) on the temple.

Sir Thomas Munro Pillar

Sir Thomas Munro Pillar in Dharmapuri town, Tamil Nadu is a famous landmark that links the present generation with the past colonial legacy. This pillar was constructed by the government of Madras ( then Madras Presidency) to mark the association of Dharmapuri with Sir Thomas Munro who lived here from April 1792 to March 1799 as Assistant to the Superintendent of Revenue in the Baramahal. Now this pillar is in honor of his dedicated services to the Indian natives. His house and his favourite garden where few yards away from this place Major-general Sir Thomas Munro, (27 May 1761 - 6 July 1827), a Scottish soldier and colonial administrator was in the service of East India Company Army officer and statesman.

Vallimadurai Dam

Vallimadurai dam is located at a distance of 6 km from Harur, Dharmapuri. It is newly constructed dam. Under the Varattar-Vallimadurai dam 1050 hectares of single crop dry land in 10 villages of the Harur taluk are covered. The dam receives water from catchment area in Shevaroy hills. Water will be flowing to the dam only during Monsoon season and remains dry if monsoon fails. A small children park located near the dam. The best time to visit between October to January.

Vaniyar Dam is located at 5 km from Pappireddipatti, Dharmapuri Tamilnadu. The vaniyar dam built in the foothills of Shevaroy Hills across the Vaniyar River, which is a major tributary of Ponnaiyar River. A small park located near the dam. The best time to visit is between Oct to Jan as the dam will be up to its full level. You can see the water level well after the monsoon. Connectivity Pappireddipatti is well connected by roads.The nearest railway station is at Bommidi, 15 km from Pappireddipatti.

Vathal malai

Vathalmalai is a hill station in Dharmapuri. It is situated at an altitude of 1,418 m (4,652 ft) height above sea level. It is located 25 km (16 miles) from Dharmapuri city. The road has 26 hairpin bends to reach hilltop. It covers an area measuring nearly 225 km. The climate of the Vathalmalai Hills has a moderate humid subtropical climate. Winters are fairly mild, beginning in December and ending in February. Time to visit Vathalmalai: March to June. (After Winter)Coffee bushes blossom in April. The climate is also particularly pleasant. It is a protected area known for several threatened and endemic species. It includes Nilgiri tahr (Ibex), the Grizzled Giant Squirrel, the Nilgiri Wood-pigeon, the Gaur, wild pig, the Nilgiri langur, the Sambar deer and the Neelakurinji.

Mount Carmel Church

On the way from bottom of the hill to top there is lot of Statues which shows the Jesus Christ Birth to death Life. In Middle of the Mount we can see the Annai Marry. In top Jesus Statue is there. Every May there is a three days function called " Kebi ." The first day Whole Night Drama about Jesus Christ is very Nice and cant able see such a reality show anywhere. Second and Third days are Musical Nights and Ther Oorvalam.
