
Karopani is a small village just fifteen Kms from Dindori, the District Headquarter. The village is known for its deer that can be seen frolicking around the place at any point of time. The black bucks found here are supposed to be one of the rarest of the antilopes. The verdant fields where these deer play all the day along are surrounded from all side by mountains and hills all covered with lush green saal forests.

It is nestled in an area of 75 acres of land where attractive and rare fossils of leaves and trees are waiting to be explored. This National Park has plants in fossil form that existed in India anywhere between 40 million and 150 million years ago.
