Aathupalaam Dam

The Aathupalayam Dam is situated in Karvazhi village of K.Paramathi taluk in Karur district. The parched aycut area has not been receiving supplies as the Aathupalayam reservoir had become a storage tank for Orathuppalayam polluted water flowing down the River Noyyal over the past few years. The storage facility was meant to harness excess flood water flowing down River Noyyal and draining from the Lower Bhavani Project (LBP) canal to irrigate more than 19,000 acres in Karur district. Usually the excess LBP water flows down the Malayathu Palayam banks only between September and December

Anjaneya Swamy Temple

Sri Jaya Anjaneya Swami temple is located in Lalapet, Karur. The beautiful village by name Lalapet is situated near Kulithalai in the Karur. Vennaimalai Subramanya Swamy Murugan Temple is Located in the Vennaimalai village of Karur district in the state of Tamilnadu. Government Museum

The Karur Government Museum is located near the bus station of Karur, it was established in the year 2000. It houses the memories of the ancestors of the place. The museum exhibits various types of bronze items, metal ware and ancient musical instruments. The excavations uncovered many Roman coins, precious stones and other iron pieces. Panjapatti Lake

Panjappatti lake is one of the biggest lakes (around 1300 acre) located in Karur district. Due to the overabundance of a flowering invasive weed (Prosopis juliflora/Seemai Karuvelam in Tamil), the entire catchment area and natural flora were slowly drying up. During the rainy season, the water from Mayanur Dam let out comes to this lake and plans are in progress to store it efficiently and recharge the lake. Thirumukkudal

Tirumukkudal is a popular pilgrimage destination offered by Karur, which is situated about 4 km away from Walajabad. Thirumukkudal is the union of the three sacred rivers, namely Palar, Cheyyar and Vegavati.
