Rajkanika Palace

It is situated near Aul township. It is an ancient palace spread over 40 acres of land. Other structures like Rajbati, Ranimahal, Ghodashala, Bhandar, Udyan, Pramoda Udyan, Debalaya, Devi Mandir are included in the palace. Near a river, it was built in a serene atmosphere. At a nearer place, lies the burial place of famous freedom fighter Dharanidhar Bhuyan.

Bhitarkanika

Mangroves are salt-tolerant, complex, and dynamic plants that occur in tropical and subtropical intertidal regions. They are adapted to the rising and lowering of tides throughout the day, with roots designed like “stilts”, enabling the plant and its leaves to photosynthesis adequately without being submerged. They have also evolved to tolerate fluctuating salinity levels throughout the day’s tides. The tall, supportive roots create baluarte hiding spots under the water for fish and small aquatic animals, and often act as fish “nurseries” for young fry to seek refuge in.

Pentha Sea Beach

Pentha Sea Beach is a beach located in the Indian state of Odisha, on the Bay of Bengal. It is located in the Kendrapara district and is known for its long stretch of white sandy beaches and clear blue waters. The beach is a popular tourist destination, and visitors can enjoy activities such as swimming, sunbathing, and beachcombing. It is also a good spot for birdwatching, as many species of migratory birds visit the area. Pentha Beach is located about 30 kilometers from Kendrapara town and can be reached by car or public transportation.

Batighara

This is the first lighthouse installed in eastern coast of India. It is around 45 KM from District HQ. It is situated in a village named Batighar, on the other bank of river Kharinasi. It is surrounded with pleasant natural beauty. Once upon a time, this was known as Kaudia Dwip and used as hunting ground of Kujanga Kings. Construction of this lighthouse was started on 6th December, 1836 and it was lighted on 16th October 1837. The stones used were transported from Barabati Fort, Cuttack. The height is 125 feet, foundation wall is 15 feet thick. The diameter at land level is 10 feet. To reach the top, 138 steps made of cement concrete and a 16-step ladder are there. The speciality of this lighthouse is that it is operational from the date of its lighting and presently it is managed by Calcutta Light House.

Baldevjiu Mandir

It is believed that Khan-I-Duran, the subedar of Odisha during the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb demolished the original temple of Baladevjew in 1661 and built a mosque on the remains of the temple. Devotees took the deity in disguise in a boat through the river Govari and kept him in a secret place near Baranga (Chhedara) Jungle. Afterwards it was shifted to Balarampur village near Luna river at Sakhi Bata. Later it was transferred to the present day Icchapur temple.
