Statue of jyotiba phule

Jyotirao Govindrao Phule (11 April 1827 – 28 November 1890), also known as Jyotiba Phule, was an Indian social activist, businessman, anti-caste social reformer and writer from Maharashtra

His work extended to many fields, including eradication of untouchability and the caste system and for his efforts in educating women and oppressed caste people.He and his wife, Savitribai Phule, were pioneers of women's education in India. Phule started his first school for girls in 1848 in Pune at Tatyasaheb Bhide's residence or Bhidewada. He, along with his followers, formed the Satyashodhak Samaj (Society of Truth Seekers) to attain equal rights for people from lower castes. People from all religions and castes could become a part of this association which worked for the upliftment of the oppressed classes.

Suraj Pole

It is situated in the heart of the city, just 0.5 km away from the Udaipur City Bus Depot and 1 km from Udaipur City railway station. Surajpole junction is approached from Delhi Gate and connects with Udiapole Circle, which is around 530 m away. It is a center point for many adjoining markets, namely Bapu Bazar, Dhaan Mandi, Kalaji Goraji, Gulab Bagh, Ziniret ka Chowk etc. This area has a mixed land use, having elements of residential, commercial and institutional use. Bapu Bazar is a popular market for shopping, with showrooms for things like clothing, crockery, gadgets, shoes school uniforms and khadi products, while also offering local vendor shops for Indian fast food

Narmada Canal

Although the Narmada River does not flow through Rajasthan and no area of Rajasthan falls in the Narmada basin, considerations were made to irrigate its lands with the water from the Narmada River that flows through the neighboring state of Gujarat, to encourage peasants to settle in the areas along the international border with Pakistan. After traversing 458 kilometres (285 mi) in Gujarat, the Narmada canal enters Rajasthan near Shilu in the Sanchor tehsil of Jalore.The 74 kilometres (46 mi) main canal, with 9 major distributaries, serves an area of 1,477 square kilometres (570 sq mi), including 124 villages.In total, it was designed to irrigate 246,000 hectares (610,000 acres) in 233 villages in Jalore and Barmer and provide drinking water to 1,336 villages.

Savitri Temple Pushkar

The Savitri temple in Pushkar is located on the Ratnagiri hill which is a popular pilgrimage site for the Hindus. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Savitri. It is a very strenuous work to climb on the hilltop but it is believed that the harder you work the more ‘Tapas’ are gained. In this temple you will find the idols of both the wives of Lord Brahma named Savitri and Gayatri. But as per tradition Goddess Savitri is always worshipped first and then prayers to Goddess Gayatri are offered. The visitors can either trek to the temple gates or take a ride in the cable cars which take passengers to the temple. The ropeway ride is really full of fun from where you can have an awesome view of the Pushkar city. However, many devotees prefer to climb 200 stairs leading to the shrine which they consider an important part of their pilgrimage to the place.

Jalore Fort

Kirtipala, the youngest son of Alhana, ruler of Nadol, established the Jalore line of Chauhans. He captured it from the Paramaras in 1181 and took the clan name Songara after the place. His son, Samarasimha, succeeded him in 1182. After him, Udayasimha became the ruler. The rule of Udayasimha was a golden period in the history of Jalore. He was a powerful and able ruler. He ruled over a large area. He regained Nadol and Mandore from the Muslims. In 1228 Iltutmish circled Jalore; however, Udayasimha offered stiff resistance. He was succeeded by Chachigadeva and Samantasimha respectively. After Samantasimha his son Kanhadadeva became ruler of Jalore.
