JAGANNATH Temple Mahesdihi

The Jagannath Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Jagannath, a form of Vishnu in Hinduism and two of his siblings, Balaram and Subhadra, alongside Sudarshan (the deified form of Vishnu's primary weapon). It is located in Puri in the state of Odisha, situated on the eastern coast of India. As per temple records, King Indradyumna of Avanti built the main temple of Jagannath at Puri. The present temple was rebuilt from the eleventh century onwards, on the site of the pre-existing temples in the compound, but not the main Jagannath temple, and begun by Anantavarman Chodaganga, the first king of the Eastern Ganga dynasty.

Sarafgarh Dam

Odisha is the land of famed forests, mountains, valleys, waterfalls, gorges, soaring peaks with stunning wildlife in their own natural habitats. The important wildlife in State are Elephants, Tigers, Leopards,Hyena, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Wild Boar, Giant Squirrel, Crocodile, Jungle Cats, Hornbills, many migratory birds etc. A total of 110 species of reptiles including three crocodilian species, 20 species of amphibians, 479 species of birds, 86 species of mammals have been recorded so far in the State.

Sundargarh is a town in Sundergarh district of the Indian state of Odisha. As of 2011 census, the municipality had a population of 45,036. Sundargarh is recognized as an industrial district in Odisha. Steel, fertilizer, cement, ferrovanadium, machine-building, glass, china-clay plants and factories, and spinning mills are some of the major industries of this district. Sundargarh occupies a prominent position in the mineral map of Odisha and is rich in iron ore, limestone, and manganese.

Vedvyas Temple

Even if you don’t have a religiously inclined personality, a visit to Vedvyas Temple will just leave you astounded. Named after the great sage Vedvyas - the man behind the composition of the Hindu epic Mahabharata, Vedvyas Temple in Rourkela is located near to the confluence of Koel, Shankha, and Saraswati Rivers that all together form Brahmani River. Since the temple is remarked as highly religious, every year, thousands of pilgrims flock to this place to solemnize thread ceremonies, marriages, and other rituals. Rituals of last rites are also performed on the banks of the river.

Mandira Dam

The reservoir offers boating facilities for tourists and the nearest railway station is located in Kansbahal on the Howrah-Mumbai main line of South Eastern Railway. Rourkela is the closest junction station. The dam can be reached from Kansbahal and Rourkela by two-wheeler, private cars, taxis, auto rickshaws and irregular bus service

Mandira dam is located near Kansbahal in Sundergarh district, Odisha, India. It is built across Sankh river, located 16 km upstream from Mandira. The water from the dam is used for Rourkela Steel Plant

Bada Ghagara Waterfall

Badaghagara is located at a distance of 9 km from the district headquarters (Kendujhar) of Kendujhar district. Being a perennial source of water, a dam has constructed on the downstream side. It is situated 3 kilometers downstream of Sanaghagara Waterfall.

Pita Mahal Dam

Pitamahal Dam is a masonry dam located in the Dhenkanal district of Odisha, India. It is built across the Pitamahal River and serves the dual purpose of irrigation and hydroelectric power generation. The dam was constructed in the early 20th century and has become an important water source for the surrounding agricultural lands.

Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium

When India was bidding for the 2023 Men's FIH Hockey World Cup, it was decided that another hockey stadium would have to be built within Odisha. The government then allotted 15 acres of land for building the stadium.The responsibility of constructing the stadium was then also handed over to Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO).The chairman of IDCO, Sanjay Kumar Singh, also said, "The Government of Odisha has assigned us to construct a world class stadium for the Men's Hockey World Cup 2023 within the given timeline of 12 months." The foundation stone of the stadium was laid by the Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik in February 2021

Harishankar Waterfall Khaprakhol

Belonging to the family of natural gems of Odisha is the Harishankar Fall which is known as a popular pilgrimage site in the state. The fall finds its special place on the southern side of Gandhamardan hills in the Rourkela City of Odisha. This tourism attraction is mostly visited and is nestled in the heart of travellers as the famous Harishankar Temple is attached to it. Pilgrims who visit this famous temple, offer their prayers to two divine Hindu deities whose name are brought together as Harishankar where Hari means Lord Vishnu and Shankar means Lord Shiva.

Pitamahal Dam Road

The twin towns of Rourkela and Fertilizer Township, as well as their developed periphery, are located in areas that were once covered by dense forests. According to the census report of 2011, Rourkela has a population of 483,038 (Rourkela Industrial Township is 273,217 and Rourkela Town is 210,412) and the urban metropolitan area population is 536,450. Then railway station of Rourkela was within the revenue village of Mahulpali.

India's first public sector steel plant facility was established in Rourkela with the help of German businesses Krupp and Demag. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, the town was the largest German colony outside Germany.
