Churu Fort

Sethani Ka Johara

The region faced a terrible famine during 1956, Sethani ka johda is a water reservoir 3 km away from Ratangarh, it was built then by the widow of Bhagwan Das Bagla.

 

Built as a research project, today the water in the reservoir attract a lot of birds and animals. You might even spot a neelgai.

He had interest in the surch of antiques. He created ‘surana Pustkalaya’, in which there are books of Sanskrit, Hindi, English and Persian languages. In addition to it he had 2500 hand written books. He was member of Churu Municipal Board for the whole life. In 1913 he became a member of legislative Assembly of Bikaner. His son was Shubhkaranji. He was also Member of legislative Assembly after his father”s death.

Anjani Mata Mandir

The famous temple of Anjani Mata situated in Salasar is a major pilgrimage place for devotees not only from Rajasthan but from the whole of India. The temple of Shri Anjani Mata is situated at a distance of about two kilometers from Salasar Dham on the road to Laxmangarh. The idol of the mother installed in this temple has Hanumanji in his child form sitting in the lap of the mother. In his four-armed life-size form, Anjani Mata is holding a conch and a Suhag-Kalash. Here Balaji Hanuman and his mother Anjani can be worshipped together. It is said that whoever comes to Salasar and worships both of them with a true heart, all his wishes are fulfilled.

Tal Chappar Blackbuck Sanctuary- safari

Tal Chhapar is an ideal place to see Blackbucks which are more than a thousand in number here. It is a good place to see the desert animals and reptile species.

Approximately 122 species of both migratory and resident birds reside here. The migratory birds come from Central Asia and Europe.

The other usually spotted birds in Tal Chhapar are Harriers, Eastern Imperial Eagle, Pale Harrier, Marsh Harrier, Short-toed Eagle, Tawny Eagles, Sparrow Hawks, Crested Larks, Demoiselle Cranes, Little Green Bee-Eaters, Skylarks, Green Bee-eaters, Brown Doves and Black Ibis.

Ratangarh Fort

At a distance of 6 km from Ratanwadi, 23 km from Bhandardara, 183 km from Pune & 197 km from Mumbai, Ratangad is an ancient hill fort situated at Ratanwadi village in Ahilyanagar district of Maharashtra. Ratangad is very popular place for trekking in Maharashtra and also one of the famous Bhandardara tourist places.

The fort is located at a height of 4250 feet. Ratangad Fort is 400 year old fort, which was used by Maratha warrior Shivaji Maharaj.

The fort has four gates known as Ganesh, Hanuman, Konkan and Trimbak.
The best time to visit Ratangad is from October to December.
