Shri Maa Sarala Temple
Jhankad is the sanctum sanctorum of Goddess Sarala, regarded as one of the most spiritually elevated expressions of Shaktism from time immemorial. Believed as a synthesis of divine figure of Durga and Saraswati, the culture of Sarala is an amalgamation of three principal Hindu cults namely Vedic, Tantrik and Vaishnavite. It is one of the eight most famous Shakta shrines of Odisha. The main idol, carved out of stone is of eight-armed keeping her right feet on the lion in Mahinsha Mardini posture. Constructed by the legendary Bhauma Kings in the 8th Century.

Konark Sun Temple
The Konark Sun Temple was built in 1250 CE during the reign of the Eastern Ganga King Narsimhadeva-1 from stone in the form of a giant ornamented chariot dedicated to the Sun god, Surya. Puri Light House
Puri is known internationally for Lord Jagannath temple and the annual Rath yatra. Puri is the Rail terminus providing direct trains to all major cities. The lighthouse is situated about 8 km west of Railway station.
It is a 25 m high circular tower with black and white bands, 30 m height.
Six detached 18.3m patches lie within 4.5 miles SE through 5.8 miles SSE of Puri Light.

Paradeep Sea Beach
A popular port in Odisha, and commercial sea-port of the country, Paradeep, also boasts a pristine beach covering the mouth of crystal clear blue waters where people come especially for sunbathing and to observe the scenic sunset and sunrise. Peacock Valley
The place was a huge open ground with trees on both sides. We stood in the middle near a house, prohibited to move any further so as not to scare the peacocks away. There was a small hillock right behind this field, on the other side of which there was a green carpet of trees. The field where the food was given, was completely bare, but on both sides, trees had lined up which served as the home of these beautiful slender birds. We waited for the birds to come out of their homes.

Megheswar Temple

Deras Dam
Deras Dam, located around 20 km away from Bhubaneswar, is considered among the largest dams in Odisha. Established in the year 1967 as a water reservoir, the dam’s main source of water is rain water. This dam was constructed mainly for irrigation purposes. However, a few canals that originate from the dam also serve as the source of water for the animals living in the Chandaka Wildlife Sanctuary.
Access to the dam is controlled by the Forest Department as it comes under the area of the sanctuary. A perfect weekend getaway spot for the people of Bhubaneswar, this dam is flocked by tourists and locals, mostly in the winter season for picnics.
