Maa Vaishnav Devi Dhaam

Maa Sharda Mata Maihar is as important as Maa Sharda enshrined in Vijayraghavgarh of the district. The Mata enshrined in Vijayraghavgarh is called the elder sister of Maihar Mata. It is said that Maa Sharda reached Vijayraghavgarh town of Katni district with Raja Prayagdas in the year 1826. Since then devotees are reaching here daily.

Vijayraghavgarh Fort

Vijayraghavgarh is name of a small town in Katni district. Its name is derived from its fort called Vijayraghavgarh fort. It was built in year 1826 by the local ruler Raja Saryuprasad, s/o Raja Prayagdas. They were the local rulers and related with the rulers of near by Maihar town. This small town is located 38km north-east of Katni city and very well connected by road. At present Vijayraghavgarh fort is in good condition with lot of things to see, witness and analyze.

Radha Krishna Temple

Bandha Imlaj Radha Krishna Temple of Rethi tehsil of the district, an example of splendid carving and ancient artwork, is the center of people’s faith. The construction of the 85-year-old temple from its foundation to its dome cost only Rs. 15,000 and the grain received as land revenue for 11 years. The elders say that two years after the construction of the temple, there was a continuous spell of rain in the district for seven days and during that time people got to hear the tune of Kanha’s flute for three days.

Suramya Park

The Municipal Corporation has also built a picturesque park near Katayeghat for the entertainment of the city residents. In this more than 30 years old picturesque park, there are different swings and other facilities for children to play, and along with boating, a chugging vehicle is also available for visiting the park. Kamakandla Fort

A stunning fragment of the glorious reign of Maharaja Yuvarajadeva I of the Kalachuris of Tripuri (also known as Kalachuris of Chedi) that has largely remained in obscurity owing to its dilapidated state is the ancient building of Kamakandla. Though it is called as Kamakandla Fort, the typical architectural styling of a fort is missing.This fort like structure was built in the early to mid-10th century according to a large inscription found on a rock that is currently housed in The Nagpur Central Museum. It also reveals the construction of Nohleshwar Shiv Mandir and the victorious campaign of Lakshmanaraja II.

Vishnu Varah Temple Karanpur

The 5th century statue of Vishnu Varah is an attraction in Karitalai –
Karitlai village is situated at a distance of 42 km from the district headquarters. There is a wonderful temple of Lord Vishnu Varah of the 5th century here.
