Sri Vontimitta Kodanda Rama Swamy Temple

Unlike most temples dedicated to Rama, there is not a single statue of Hanumana inside. The sanctum and attached pillared hall were built earlier (reportedly in the 14th century), while the gopuram and central mandapa were added later.Close to the temple, there is, picturesque lake sprawling beneath a hill range. The waterbody is filled with reedy vegetation that gives it an eerie air. The tourism department organises boat rides here, though they were not operational at the time of research.

Ameen Peer Dargah

Siddavatam Fort

The fort here was much developed under the rule of king Varadha Raju, who is the son-in-law of Sri Krishna Deva Raya. This fort was just a mud fort at the time the area was ruled by "Matli Rajulu". Later it came under the control of Varadha Raju.

Earlier it was a part of Udayagiri Kingdom. Matli Yellama Raju used to support the second Venkatapathi Rayalu in many wars. For this favour, Siddavatam was given to Matli Yellama Raju as a gift along with some other places. Later Matli Anantha Raju remodelled the fort as Rock Fort.

Gandikota

Gandikota is a region with a vibrant history, located in Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh. Perched on a hill, at a height of approximately 100 metres, it overlooks the Penna River gorge. The name Gandikota is derived from the Telugu words ‘Gandi’ (gorge) and ‘Kota’ (fort). The Gandikota Kaifiyat reveals that the region’s renowned ancient fortress dates back to 1123. The region gained significance during the rule of the Kakatiyas and their subordinate Kayasthas. Over the centuries, it has been governed by various dynasties, including the Kalyani Chalukya, Kakatiya, Vijayanagara Empire, Qutb Shahi Dynasty, Mughal Empire, Mayana Nawabs, Kingdom of Mysore, and finally, the British in 1791. Its name frequently appears in historical accounts of the ancient conflicts in the area.

Seshachalam Hills

The Seshachalam Hills are a part of the Eastern Ghats in Andhra Pradesh state of India. The Seshachalam hills are a group of seven hills namely, Seshadri, Neeladri, Garudadri, Anjanadri, Vrishabhadri, Narayanadri and Venkatadri. The hills are surrounded by Rayalaseema uplands in the west and northwest and the Nandyal Valley in the north.
